Conclusion

Although some may argue otherwise, Debussy is a true impressionist; if for the most obvious fact that his music directly reflects other mediums of art created by impressionists. Debussy was a revolutionary in his field. He used chords, harmonies, scales, and dissonance in ways they hadn’t previously been explored. Debussy was inspired by many artists of the impressionistic time, including Mallarme, Verlaine, Turner, Hokusa, Monet, and others. Debussy was a brilliant whose work was both ahead of his time as well as a reflection of the current progressive movement called impressionism.
